Revisions are an essential part of the content-production process, and allow your team to fine-tune content to reach its maximum potential. While we have a great network of freelance freelancers, they may not always nail the execution on the first go. In fact, they're expecting and ready to work with your requests for revision.
Revisions: copy & design
If you're ever unhappy with the first draft turned in by a writer or designer, you can request up to two rounds of revision using the original story fee. Each revision beyond the initial two rounds will cost (min.) 20% of the original story fee.
Revisions: video & photography
Video and photography projects also have two revisions built into the original project fee, but the cost per additional revision varies based on a number of factors, including the scope of the project and the size of the revision.
Best practices
Ensure that your feedback is thorough and includes clear, actionable instructions for changes and/or improvements.
For a more-streamlined review, Contently recommends consolidating revisions internally before passing them back to freelancers.
In the case that a freelancer has missed the mark completely, even after revisions have been made, speak with your managing editor or Customer Success lead about the best next course of action.
