We've built a tool into our platform to easily identify when large amounts of content have been created using generative AI. This wasn't built to discourage anyone from using AI in their writing process, but rather to track when it is being used.
How does this new feature work?
- Once the final workflow step for a story has been submitted, the content will be sent out to a third party provider that will validate what portion of the content, if any, is made up of generative AI.
- In order for the scan to trigger, there does need to be at least 100 characters of content in the body of the story.
- If our provider determines that more than 50% of the content is made up of generative AI, there will be an automated email that gets sent out with the details included.
Where can this feature be found?
- The scan will take approximatively 2-3 minutes to complete after the final step of the workflow is submitted. Once it is complete, managing editors and publication owners can check the review tab and see a line item indicating it was scanned for AI generated content.
Who gets included in the email?
- Managing editor
- Account manager
- Internal plagiarism team
- Internal talent team
