Teams change and we understand the need for the ability to add and remove users from your team(s).
1. Adding users
1. To add new users to your publication, roll over your account photo in the top right of Contently and select "Publication settings." Then click on "User management" on the left sidebar.
2. On the next page, select the publication you'd like to add the user to from the dropdown in the top left of your Contently page.
Note: If you only have one Contently publication, this will be auto-selected—and you can simply move to the next step.
3. Next, on the left hand side of the page, select "User Management" on the left sidebar.
4. On the next page, toward the top right, select the "Create user" button.
This will bring you to the screen where you're able to enter the user's first name, last name, email address, and user role—along with what team you'd like them to join within that publication. If you're unsure what level of visibility you'd like for the user to have, check out the definitions of our user roles here.
Once all the information is entered and you click "Save," the user will be notified via email that they've been added to your team. However, you'll be able to begin assigning stories or engaging with the new user within the platform right away.
Note: If you'd like to add users to multiple publications under your account, please reach out to support@contently.com and we'll happily assist.
2. Removing users
It's easy to remove a user from your team.
4. From the User Management page, click on the name of the user you'd like to remove and select "Remove from Staff."
Alternatively, navigate to the team on the User Management page and click "Edit."
From there, click the "X" next to the contributor's name.
Note: You will only be able to remove a user from a publication if their stories are marked "complete" in the workflow. Keep in mind that users aren't notified when they are removed, but they will no longer have access to the publication.
