How is payment issued across a workflow?

Modified on Tue, 28 Feb 2023 at 12:08 PM

One of the benefits of contributing through the Contently platform is our fast, accountable payment system.

For several of your Contently projects, full payment usually will be provided upon submission of the first draft. We trust you to stick around for any follow up comments or revisions once you cash out.

However, for larger Contently projects (defined as over $500), it's standard policy for the payment to be broken up over the course of a workflow. For example, if an in-depth story with interviews is priced at $800, the first step of draft submission will only have $400 associated. Once requested revisions are addressed, the final $400 will be allocated to your account.

If, for whatever reason, a payment step in the story has been motionless for more than 21 days and you are awaiting editor action, please reach out to help@contently.com. We'll reach out to the editor to ensure you receive your full payment or that the process is sped along.

For more information on how to cash out, read our help center article here.
