An efficient review process can result in faster time-to-publish and fewer headaches. Below are a few ways to streamline reviews.
Best practices
Consolidate reviews internally before sending back to the contributor for revisions. Note that story fees typically include up to two rounds of revision; additional revisions are priced at (min.) 20% of the original story fee.
Get ahead of potential revision requests by asking reviewers for guidelines to add to your publication's Content Strategy. For example, if the marketing team requires certain phrasing for products, share those guidelines with contributors in the Content Strategy section of the platform so they are incorporated from the outset.
Define roles clearly for reviewers. Make sure reviewers know what they're reviewing for and duties don't overlap unnecessarily. The legal team is not editing grammar; marketing is not looking for legal considerations; etc.
Utilize remote workflow. Remote workflow allows off-platform approvers to review work and leave feedback in Contently. Remote workflow can simplify the review process by keeping edits and comments in one place—the Contently platform—versus scattered across multiple platforms or documents.
