The Contributors page under the analytics tab helps you track the performance of your contributors by aggregating all of their bylines. This will help your publication understand who should stay and who should be removed from the account.
How to pull the report:
Click on the analytics tab
On the left hand side menu, click on “Contributors”
On the right hand side, you can select the date range. This will show activity of freelancers during the allotted time frame.
Click on “Generate Report” to get an email from Contently with the download link.
Once you download the report you’ll be able to review each freelancer's performance.
Reading the results:
For more information visit this Help Center article on Understanding Contently Analytics.
What to do with the results:
Once you have your report, you can review the information and cross examine it with your teams under the User Management Tab.
To view your teams:
Click on your avatar on the top right and click on “Publication Settings” from the drop down menu.
2. On the left hand side, click on “User Management”.
There you will see all of your teams and which freelancers are on them. Work with your Managing Editor (ME) to identify which freelancers you’re not using or which freelancers have low engagement rates. You can also tell which freelancers you’re using less by starting at the bottom of the downloaded list and matching their stories on the platform.
Removing freelancers
DISCLAIMER: Make sure the freelancer you are removing isn’t currently assigned a story on your publication. If you do remove them and they are attached to an unfinished step, this could offset your workflow.
Within the User Management Tab, click on the freelancer’s name and click on “Remove from Staff” at the lower left side.
