How do I communicate with team members on the platform?

Messages and comments are two great tools that allow you to communicate during the story creation process.

 

Note: If you are a freelancer trying to reach out to you managing editor, please read here.

 

Messages

1. To send individual messages, click the envelope icon in the top right-hand corner of your screen.

 

2. To send a new message, hit "Compose."

 

3. Type the recipient, write your message and hit "Send."

 

To access your inbox, click on the envelope icon and then "All."

 

If you only want to see unread messages, hit "Unread."

 


 

Comments

In addition to messages, you also have the ability to correspond using comments. Your comments on a story can be either in-line or general.

 

In-Line Comments

In-line comments are feedback on a specific part of the story. To view all comments, click the "Comments" tab on the right-hand side toolbar.

 

Orange underlines indicate an in-line comment. By clicking on the sentence, the comment will appear.

 

To leave feedback on a specific part of the text, highlight the text, and click on the orange bubble icon that appears. Use the "@" sign to tag someone (e.g. contributor, editor, client) in your comment. Click "Comment" to save.

 

General Comments

General comments reflect overall feedback on the story. To view all comments, click the "Comments" tab on the right-hand side toolbar.

 

Click "Create Comment" to create general comment. Use the "@" sign to tag someone (e.g. contributor, editor, client) in your comment.

 

To view a thread of comments, click on the original comment, which will make the corresponding appear.

 

Note: Comments can be made whether a story is or is not in your workflow step.
